NewsDutch National Technical Guideline
In 2020, a committee responsible for a national technical guideline was established under the leadership of CROW. It commissioned an R&D program with all stakeholders, ranging from concrete producers, the Ministry of Infrastructure, the association of concrete and cement producers, the association of Waste to Energy, the association of contractors, and the representatives of the main cities.
The R&D program set up by the National Committee is unique, as it tests the product in its first application as a concrete product as well as the recycling of the concrete produced with the MIBA Filler. The concrete aggregates (after the concrete with MIBA Filler is crushed for reuse) are tested on civil and environmental properties.
We are unique in anticipating innovative crushing technologies that will develop in the next 5-10 years; we are not only testing the existing Best Available Technologies on concrete crushing, but also innovative crushing techniques.
These innovative technologies will likely have less cement gel on the aggregate. This means that the fine fraction that is produced will be characterized and should be suitable for reuse.
The committee has successfully completed its work and made a publication in 2021. This Technical Guideline is translated in four languages and available here:
